Oh, the places you’ll go…That is what I keep hearing in my head. Apparently, that list includes Skywalker Ranch and Lucasfilm HQ. I’ve visited Skywalker Ranch once before, thinking it would be a once in a lifetime sort of thing. Disney is excellent at going above and beyond that thought process. Case in point is this very post. I didn’t just get to visit Skywalker Ranch once again for an incredible reception after screening 28 minutes of Rogue One, but on this press trip, we had a chance to see the ins and outs of what goes on at the Lucasfilm HQ. Wait til you see some of what I saw in this fun photo album look at what I saw while visiting both places earlier this week.
Skywalker Ranch and Lucasfilm HQ
When we arrived at Skywalker Ranch it was dark. Last time I was there during the day so we really got to see the beauty of the property.
For the event, we did get to visit the store which they took us to by the main house all lit up for the holidays.
Here are a few shots from the store, which I did a little Christmas shopping and got myself an ornament for the tree.
And then there’s the time we spent at Lucasfilm HQ.
Here we had some time to interview the cast of Rogue One, which I will be sharing in the coming days, but here are some photos of some of the coolest things I got to see and hear about.
So many cool things that were used on some of our favorite films. Here’s a look of memorbilla from Indiana Jones, Pirates, Jurassic Park, Dreams and Star Wars.
And this is Yoda, like one of THE Yoda’s and yes, THE ET! The ET is from the first scene when you can see his heart light. This was pretty amazing to see up close.
Finally, I don’t think I am alone thinking this is super cool. This door was on the old Lucasfilm office. It never said what it was, so they worked incognito for years. Once they left and opened up the HQ we toured, the decided to put the old door up on display. Our tour guide Lucas, yes, that’s his real name, he told us that they have interns try to open the door to get copy paper often.
Another one of those Disney experiences that have been incredibly amazing. One that I feel so privileged to share with you.
