Walking the Streets of Toronto

Walking the streets of Toronto

The TBEX conference had ended and I had a bit of time to be a tourist. Lucky me right?

I found myself on a mission. While in Paris I had to get macaroons, and this time it’s about the butter tarts.  My Canadian friends were surprised that this was new for me.  With a few sweet tooth loved ones at home, I was determined to find some to bring back with me.  I was told that I needed to head to Kensington Market to find the tarts, so that’s what I did.

Tornoto App

Thank goodness for the Toronto app.  I was able to map out my destination and really not have to worry about getting lost.  I walked from the convention center all the way to Kensington Market.

ChinaTown Toronto

I got to go through Chinatown, which is always a fun place to see no matter what big city you visit. I was surprised to find a large number of stores selling merchandise.  I stopped for some cheesy souvenirs and then continued on my way.

Kensington Ave

When I arrived to Kensington market I found it so quaint. Very European. I stumbled upon a coffee shop right on the corner and wouldn’t ya know, they have butter tarts. I grabbed a cup of coffee.  The coffee was so good that I didn’t need to add sweetner.  I then indulged in a delicious butter tart.

Then in this super cool Bohemian area of Toronto I came upon this truly cool shop Wild Hemp. There I met Hollis and his great customer service got me to buy my girls these awesome hemp backpacks.

I then decided to do a little more shopping before heading back to the hotel.  Toronto is a fantastic city.  Safe, clean and the people are wonderful.

Ahhh, such a great way to spend a few hours in Toronto.

  1. I’ve lived most of my life in Seattle and Portland. Whenever I go to Victoria or Vancouver, the culture is so similar it feels like I never left home. I’d be interested in checking out some Eastern cities like Toronto to see how they are different.
