Recently a few of my friends and I talked about our favorite Christmas movies, from this conversation I formed this post.
Top 10 Favorite Christmas Movies
In no particular order, here is the list we came up with.
A Christmas Story –
Elf –
Lapoon’s Christmas Vacation –
Santa Claus is Coming to Town –
It’s a Wonderful Life –
Miracle on 34th Street –
A Charlie Brown Christmas –
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer –

How the Grinch Stole Christmas –
There are so many…it was hard to pick our 10. What’s on your list??? Is there one you watch every year?

I have to watch Scrooge (the musical with Albert Finney…LOVE!), Elf, and White Christmas.
My favorite is the cartoon version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
We share a love of some of the same movies! I am not into It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th street but I love all the others. Elf is fantastic but A Christmas Story will always have my number 1 spot!
Add “Bad Santa” and our lists would be identical. 😉 We love the classics and the newer ones!
We always watch ELF right before Christmas, it’s such a great Christmas movie and really what the holidays are all about!
Funny, I was just talking to my MIL about making a list like this! All of yours made my list, so I guess I’m done! 😉 Elf is our favorite.
I’m glad to say I’ve seen all 10 of these! And actually own most of them, too; I love collecting Christmas movies 🙂 You have some of my faves on here, especially Elf, The Santa Clause, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Yeah! You got some of my favorites on the list! Love ELF, it’s a wonderful life and Rudolf! YEah!
These would all be on my top favorites list too!!
Love the list. We also watch the Grinch cartoon and Home Alone. But Charlie Brown is probably our favorite.
I actually the ‘animated’ version of A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. We have it in 3D and it’s pretty awesome to watch.
Charlie Brown Christmas is my favorite one!
I hate to admit it but I have never seen It’s a Wonderful Life. I have seen the other movies and love Elf.
These are all so great! My faves would be Miracle on 34th Street and Rudolph.
My daughter watched Rudolph so much we made it a December only movie! Great list of faves.
I love a Christmas Story. Best. Movie. Ever. 🙂
Love all these movies. A Christmas Story was filmed right here in Cleveland – I have vague memories of the Santa slide in the old Halle Building downtown. hee-hee
You have excellent taste in Christmas movies! I love A Christmas Story so much too. I am dying to watch that this year.
We have to watch Christmas Vacation. Multiple times! Even if we pass by it on TV – we must stop on it and watch it. I never get tired of that movie. It’s so hilarious. Great list, you’ve got lots of favorites there.
I love these Christmas movies. I think my current favorite is Prep and Landing.
The Santa Claus is my all time favorite Christmas movie. Hubby love A Christmas Story.
The first three you mentioned are my favorites, but I would also add Home Alone! Love that movie!
AWESOME choices!!! SHaring this post!!! Too funny!
yes! i love this! i have so many and ELF is one of my top 5
I also love the movie, “The Christmas Card” even if it is slightly predictable.
