Thank you to the Phoenix CVB, Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort and Tocaloma Spa & Salon for making it possible for me to share this experience with you. All opinions are my own.
OK, I will admit it, I am a spa girl. I love to go to the spa. I love to get pampered, rubbed down, detoxed, polished and unplugged. It is really good for me. My mind, my body and my soul love me more whenever I indulge in this type of treat. So on my recent trip to Phoenix with the BloggerGo group, this was one of two spa trips. Spoiled, yes, totally!

Staying at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort is already a treat in itself, but then having a chance to use the spa – totally awesome. We had a few options to chose what treatment we’d like to try. I opted for the facial when visiting the Tocaloma Spa & Salon. I get massages often, and getting facials is something I don’t treat myself as often as I should. Skincare is so very important at any age, but as I creep to the big 4-0, smaller pores, less wrinkles and a fresh rested look is very appealing to me.
Not everyone finds facials relaxing, but I do, and in this case I even fell asleep. So the whole treatment was truly relaxing. And I woke up to a glowing look.
The Tocaloma Spa & Salon offer an array of treatments. On the list you can choose from 9 different massage treatments, 7 body treatments, 10 skincare treatments, hair removal, make-up applications, nail care, and hair care. There are also several spa package to choose from.

After our time in the spa, the ladies and myself took some time to relax in our private cabana and enjoy pool time. Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort The Falls Water Village is a spectacular resort experience featuring a 40-foot waterfall, two large free-form pools, 23 private cabanas, sun-deck terraces and a 138-foot enclosed waterslide.
We enjoyed sitting in our private cabana having some refreshments and lunch from the Cascades Café. This charming outdoor café serves a selection of healthy salads and sandwiches and has a full bar service, and I can attest to the perfectly refreshing cocktails. YUM!

What a fun thing to do!!! Not sure if I’d take my hubby or best friend. I think my hubby would say to take a best friend though.
Wow, it looks likes you had an amazing time! I would love to go away for a short relaxation trip!
I am officially jealous! I would love, love, love a trip to the spa. 🙂

On the etymology: Yahoo seems to think it's probably short for &qtow;golliuog". Golliwog is, I think, a traditional mythical beast invoked by British Mommies to scare their children into behaving correctly. Sorta like the Mommies in Panama scaring their kids for a hundred years or more after he was dead, with the threat of Sir Francis Drake coming after them.
