The Power of Quiet…..
We live in a generation where multitasking isn’t seen as an option-it’s become mandatory. Everything is about going, doing more, having more, and as a result,
we are living less…we are.
I’m not sure where the wonderful concept of cramming everything and more into a day came as such a great idea. Where kids are involved to the nth degree and at a much earlier age.
Work is defining our lives, and we seem to be running so much we don’t even have time to reflect on what little quiet we get.
How powerful quiet time is, we neglect to see. There is an Indian Proverb that goes like this:
“Everyone is a house with four rooms; a physical, an emotional, a mental and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time, but unless we go into every room, every day, even if only to keep it aired, we are to a complete person.”
What then, are we doing each day, to ensure we visit all four rooms? It will differ for all of us, please share-I’m interested to know. For some it is church, prayer, meditation, coffee before everyone rises, or even listening to the quiet alone or with a friend.
I do believe in its importance. How can we appreciate the moments and fully live, if we have so much noise around us?
Take the time, and see the good in how much more mindful you are when you slow it down.
Enjoy life, and appreciate the fact that rest is more powerful than the long list of ego building responsibilities we make for ourselves.
Happy Thursday! Enjoy your weekend ahead! xx

Love all the quotes! They are absolutely so true!! Enjoy life by experiencing it yourself!
Live in the moment Mel, that’s all we can do right?:)
LOVE this! Especially the quieter you become the more you can hear…words to live by for sure!
That resonates with me too Ashley!
yeah life is never quite, with 5 kids and homeschooling sleeping is the only quite time I get! Great quotes!
I can relate! …I don’t have 5 kids, God bless you!, but I have 3 and the chaos is similar.
Enjoy your quiet time! xx
This is a great reminder! I have a very hard time being quite and need to learn how to do it better!
I think we all do Jeannette, you’re not alone in this one;)
