What to do?
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
Guests become the protagonists of a rockin’ new adventure in Disney California Adventure Park as they help rescue a cosmic gang of misfits in Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! This thrilling attraction is fueled with high-energy, action that will be fun for Super Hero fans. Even those who are discovering this story for the first time.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! offers an original storyline based on “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, comics and animated television series, with a rapid rise into chaotic adventure and surprising visuals. The fast-paced action rocks to the beat of music inspired by the films’ soundtracks, including classic rock and pop music from the ‘60s, ‘70s and early ‘80s. And with multiple ride profiles, guests never know which adventure they’ll get. With a different experience every time you ride, it’s bound to be a favorite for years to come! I know I love it!
It’s here that guests experience one of the attraction’s six different ride profiles, each synchronized to one of the songs on the “awesome mix tape”:
- “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” by Pat Benatar
- “Give Up The Funk” by Parliament
- “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf
- “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5
- “Free Ride” by The Edgar Winter Group
- “Burning Love” by Elvis Presley
Guests soon learn that, even if the rescue is successful, the resulting chaos may create problems of its own!
Dance Off
In addition to the Mission Break Out fun, be lured in by the irresistible music during a high-energy dance off, attended by the irrepressible Guardians of the Galaxy.
Strut your stuff to the thumping beat of legendary tracks and see how long your dance skills can keep you out on the floor. Once the party heats up, keep an eye out for Groot, who likes to arrive fashionably late. You’ll have plenty of time to see him though, because he’ll “stick” around as the party winds down.
Spy the Reclusive Black Widow
The stealthy Black Widow is one of the newest Avengers in the park―and her dramatic entrance is not to be missed.
A vital member of the Avengers team, Black Widow will use her espionage skills while on a secret mission in Hollywood Land. Once she steps from the vehicle, Black Widow will assemble her throng of new recruits in order to document everyone’s most heroic poses with phenomenal photos.
Young recruits ages 6 to 12 are the stars of the show―along with Black Widow and Hawkeye―and just may find themselves Avenger trainees.
Location and Times
Avengers Training Initiative is performed at the Hollywood Backlot Stage in Hollywood Land. You can find performance times on the entertainment schedule or using the Disneyland app.
Stand with Captain America…
For pictures, a chat, and a heroic handshake.
Share a salute with the man who wields the vibranium shield. Not to mention the first Avenger can’t wait to meet another red, white and true-blue hero like you.
What to eat?
Also as part of the Summer of Heroes celebration at Disney California Adventure Park, guests will find Super Hero-inspired food and beverages at six different locations. TheHollywood Land area of the park has all the snacks, including Schmoozies, Award Wieners and Market Place. New locations include the Cosmic Canteen and Knowhere Eats.
Dishes and drinks in lively colors of green, purple, red, blue and orange reflect the bold personalities of some favorite Super Heroes.
This may be my favorite. Baby Groot is the inspiration of one of the fun new desserts. The Angry Little Pudding Cup features chocolate pudding with crumbled chocolate sandwich cookie, whipped cream and funnel cake fries.
Additionally, for guests who enjoy the Mickey-shaped sourdough bread, you must try the new Groot-shaped bread, in sourdough and jalapeno-cheddar flavors.
Also in the mix is the Most Dangerous Tacos in the Galaxy, are a must-try. Inspired by the fiery personality of Gamora, featuring barbacoa, green onion slaw, and habanero salsa.
In addition, guests can try the Savory Strength Falafel Pita, Super Size Subs, Space Outpost Tacos, Gamma-Sized Donuts and Bifrosties (shave ice with fun themed flavors).
