For me, Disney’s Hollywood Studios means four of my favorite theme park rides. The thrills of both The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith get my heart racing! The Great Movie Ride gives that nostalgic warm fuzzy feeling of riding through scenes of old movie favorites. And of course there is Toy Story Midway Mania, where my competitive side comes out in full force as my Toy Story friends keep me in check.
We got to hang out at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the Zootopia event. And even with the fun of my favorites, Star Wars pretty much took the cake! Disney has taken that area and totally upped their fandom by adding to the experience with Star Wars heroes and villains as well as some of the coolest movie props, games to play, and just a fun area to get some awesome photos!
Explore immersive special exhibits and get a peek behind the scenes of the new movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Discover sights, sounds and surprises that are sure to delight any Star Wars fan.
Get an up-close look at replica props, models, costumes, concept artwork and artifacts from the Star Wars films, including these special galleries:
- Celebration Gallery
- Preview Galley
- Light Side Gallery
- Dark Side Gallery
Inspect a full-size replica of Rey’s Speeder or step inside an intergalactic cantina reminiscent of the famous Mos Eisley cantina. Take a photo as you pretend you’re one of the cantina’s alien scoundrels, play holographic chess, sit at a Sabacc table or mosey up to the bar—complete with a glass of blue bantha milk.
Being able to ask Kylo Ren how his dad is doing, well that made an interesting moment. Totally in character and almost scary, I loved getting these photos from my PhotoPass.
Kylo Ren is feared throughout the galaxy for his vicious skills in combat and his strength with the Force. Wearing stark black robes and a foreboding metallic mask, Kylo seeks to invoke the dreaded image of Darth Vader as he enforces the will of his commander, the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke.
Don’t let your guard down; Kylo’s temper is as fiery and volatile as his crackling lightsaber. But, there is a far greater danger—the dark side of the Force can be powerfully alluring. Kylo may attempt to persuade you to join him on his furious quest to rid the galaxy of the Resistance and the remnants of the Jedi Order.
It’s up to you to choose your destiny!
And then of course there was Jawa hanging out for photo ops as well.
Star Wars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Symphony in the Stars
So with all of that Star Wars excitement, I have to share the BEST part of the Star Wars love that Disney’s Hollywood Studios is now offering, the dessert party! Yes! All about the fireworks and dessert!
Enjoy an out-of-this-world selection of desserts and specialty drinks—including alcoholic beverage options. Nibble on Darth Vader cupcakes as you take in an up-close view of the enthralling Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show.
To remember the very unique evening for a long time (in a galaxy not so far, far away), you’ll receive a souvenir stein featuring one of the most beloved Star Wars characters, Chewbacca.
The Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party is offered on multiple nights from January 5, 2016 through March 19, 2016.
Price
- The price is $69.00 per adult (age 10 and over) and $39.00 for children (ages 3 to 9); tax and gratuity are included.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios admission is also required and is not included in the price of the Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party.
With some perfectly mixed drinks and then my Chewbacca souvenir stein, I felt like I was a Star Wars VIP for the night. If you happen to be at the parks before March 19th, this is a must do! It’s definitely worth the money if you like sweets and yummy adult drinks.
As I mentioned, this was all part of the Zootopia Event, and if you haven’t seen the number one movie out yet, make sure to make plans for this weekend! It’s truly perfect for the whole family!
