On my trip to California last year, I had a chance to visit the O’Brien Estate. It’s located right in Napa, in the middle of miles and miles of beautiful vineyards. Though the vineyard has been there since 1978, the O’Brien’s are still fairly new to the vintner lifestyle since they acquired the property in 2000.

Something that I noticed and really appreciated about the O’Brien Estate was the passion they had for their wines. Their story began 25 years ago when they had their third date in the comfort of their favorite vineyard. Fast forward 25 years later, and they wanted to create a wine that flourishes in the soil where their love was first planted.
Like their passion for each other, the names of their wines are inspired by love. When you visit the O’Brien estate, make sure to check out the eight wines in the Romantic Portfolio. All poetry was written from the hearts of Barb and Bart O’Brien. I love this! And Seduction is one of my favorite red wines!

I especially enjoyed the barrel tastings. I learned about the process, and also became very aware that 2014 will be a phenomenal red wine year. The weather was perfect last year for planting and harvest.
If you leave the O’Brien Estate without a renewed sense of hope in love and romance then you haven’t been paying attention. As soon as you step onto the property, you can feel that passion for love, family, and of course wine.
