Wondering How to Eat Healthy While Traveling?
I have been on many ‘diets’ over the years. Eating healthy while at home is one thing but attempting to eat healthy while traveling is a whole other ball game. Even if I’m doing well on a diet, traveling can sure kill the momentum. I’ve had that happen a few times where I end up completely giving up on said diet.
With enough pre-planning you can still maintain your diet and Eat Healthy While Traveling. It can be done.
My husband and I recently started Medifast. The plan we are on is to eat 5 Medifast Meals and 1 Lean and Green Meal. Having this flexibility is great.
Summer is made up of a lot of traveling. Whether we are driving back and forth to baseball tournaments, driving the kids to camp or taking a family vacation, we are spending a lot of time out of the house.
I recently drove a church van full of kids up to camp. It was a 4 hour drive one way so with bathroom breaks and a lunch break, we were on the road 10 hours that day. It was a long day. One where I’d normally bring a lot of snacks to munch on in the vehicle.
I did some pre-planning and made sure to pack all 5 of my Medifast Meals. So I still brought plenty of snacks but they were all snacks that I could have on my plan. I snacked when I needed to, I got out my Medifast Meal while the kids were eating their sack lunches and had plenty of water. Then on the way home we stopped at a restaurant and I ate my Lean and Green Meal. I had a huge salad with chicken.
With a little pre-planning, I was able to Eat Healthy While Traveling and I didn’t feel deprived at all.
Now not everyone is on the Medifast plan but that doesn’t mean you can’t also plan ahead and pack healthy foods. Make sure you have a cooler on hand and plenty of great options within your reach and you’ll do just fine!
