Thank you to the Phoenix CVB, Fort McDowell Adventures, and Detours for making it possible for me to share this experience with you. All opinions are my own.
I love horseback riding. It’s one of my favorite things to do and years ago I was able to go weekly. When I saw that this was on the itinerary for the Phoenix BloggersGo trip, I got super excited and quickly realized it had been more than 3 years since I had been on a horse. Yeehaw and lucky us!
Detours came and picked us up to take us on a 45 minute ride over to Fort McDowell Adventures. The driver was super nice and knowledgeable about Phoenix. He happily shared fun facts and pointed out points of interests during our ride.

Once we arrived, we met our already saddled up horses and headed out into the desert for a beautiful scenic ride. Starting with a peaceful ride on a dusty trail and then a walk through a small creek, the horses were calm and pretty automatic, which makes it safe for even the most novice rider.
Horseback riding at Fort McDowell Adventures – @FortMcDowellAdv For many visitors and locals, there’s no better way to connect with the land, soul and heritage of the Southwest than exploring the region on horseback. Remote riding trails are scattered throughout Greater Phoenix and its unpopulated outskirts. www.fortmcdowelladventures.com

What a FUN activity to do! I would LOVE to take my kids on this when they get a little bigger. My daughter loves animals and would absolutely love this!
I haven’t been horseback riding in a long time. This looks like great fun.
I spent years in highschool riding horses and try to go whenever I find a place. I am very jealous!
I think I did rather well for my first time. I think my horse liked that I let him do whatever because I was afraid to tell him otherwise LOL!
