Oh, hey, it’s been a minute. So I thought I’d say hi. Maybe do a quick catch up with Trippin’ with Tara, see what’s going on in my life.
Many of you have been following my blog for a long time. For years, I was traveling, covering entertainment in LA practically monthly, and there wasn’t a day I wasn’t posting something on trippinwithtara.com. Then suddenly, everything came to a hard stop.
So, two years ago, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. That story is one that I have yet to write. But will. Probably sooner than later.
With that and some other medical stuff, I had to put the blog on hold indefinitely, so with just a few sponsored posts and even fewer press trips, Trippin with Tara has been hanging in there.
When my mom found out she had breast cancer, I was ready to do whatever she and my family needed. So, I backed off from traveling for work. And when I would watch events happen from afar, and not feel like I was missing anything other than my friends, I knew it was time to reevaluate what I was doing and what would be next for me.
About six months before all of this, I met Stan. Someone I didn’t know I needed but has been a gift from God. He’s patient, loving, and kind. He has been a rock of stability for me. He came to know the easy and hard sides of me, for it was an understandably stressful time. Can you believe we will celebrate our 1st year of marriage next month?
Also, during this time, Madi, my youngest daughter, was graduating high school. Then, in the Fall, she went off to college. And with Gabi, my oldest daughter in her senior year of college, yes, I also became an empty-nester.
So, Tara, the empty-nester, newlywed, caretaker, and a quiet blogger, it’s clear I haven’t figured it all out yet. But guys, I have some things in the works. I’ve recently set up my office space for podcasting. I am not sure about the future of the blog. But I am not ready to let it go completely. It will just be much different.
The blogging world has been very good to me. I have met some of my closest friends and made incredible memories. Boy, do I have stories, many that are unwritten AND untold. So, stay tuned.
I’ve missed you!
